Why Your Body Needs a Deep Conversation Massage, Not a Wedding Reception Spa Massage

Updated: Jun 19

I was in the middle of a 90 minute massage this week, when this random thought occurred to me, and I felt I needed to write about it..! Bear with me, and let me explain!

Therapist performing a focused clinical massage treatment for neck and shoulder pain.

When you book a full-body spa massage—whether 60 or 90 minutes—it’s like mingling at your own wedding reception. Every inch of you gets a polite “hello”—a light glossing over. The shoulders, the legs, the arms—everything’s massaged, but only really on the surface, because time is spread thin. We can't cover every ache or pain in much detail, because I've got the rest of you to massage! And just like those whirlwind wedding chats—“Oh, lovely weather!” “Your dress is amazing!”—you talk to 200 people during the course of the day, yet walk away feeling like you didn’t truly connect with anyone.

With a 45-minute Jing Method clinical massage, it’s focused. We spend that time on the exact area causing pain—which strikes me more like grabbing coffee with your closest friend to dive deep. We work every muscle involved in the pain patterns you're presenting with, we use targeted heat, and specific stretches, so you leave with real relief. There may even be things you can do at home to help yourself feel better, too. So, those 45 minutes contain deep, focused work...just like that coffee date with your best friend.

If you want general relaxation, then yes, the spa massage is perfect. Book one, they're lovely, and you'll have a wonderful experience!! But if you want genuine, targeted change—book the deeper conversation. Your body deserves it.

FAQs

Is a spa massage good for back pain?

A spa massage can be wonderful for relaxation and stress reduction, but persistent pain often benefits from a more focused approach.

What is the difference between a clinical massage and a spa massage?

A spa massage aims to relax the whole body, whereas a clinical massage concentrates on the structures contributing to pain and restricted movement.

Is a 45-minute massage enough?

Yes. A focused 45-minute clinical massage can often achieve more than a longer whole-body treatment because all of the time is spent addressing the problem area.

If you're looking for advanced clinical massage in Worthing and you're struggling with persistent neck pain, shoulder tension or low back pain, a focused 45-minute Jing Method™ treatment may help. Appointments take place in my peaceful garden treatment room, with online booking available for women throughout Worthing and the surrounding areas.
